چکیده

The results of wide band delay spread and time delay jitter measurements collected from five factory buildings are presented here. Carrier frequency was 1282 MHz. The data show that excess mean delay, r.m.s. delay spread, and time delay jitter values in single-story factory buildings are similar to values observed in and around multi-story office buildings. Differential time delay jitter measurements reveal that the excess mei\n delay can ·vary as much as 180 ns for 5. 5 em shifts in receiver location. Results from 950 multipath power delay profiles collected in 50 local areas are summarized. INTRODUCTION As the factory of the future develops, there will be a need to provide flexible, por:tabie cmrununications for personnel, autonomous vehicles (mobile robots), and automated machinery. Radio is capable of providing such communications. To adequately design portable digital radio corrununicatlon systems for the factory environment, it is Imperative to first understand limitations Imposed by the channel. This paper presents results of wide band multipath power delay . profile measurements conducted in five factory buildings. Propagation characteristics of the factory channel may also be found in [ 1], [ 2]. Devasirvatham [ 3], [ 4], and Saleh and Valenzuela [ 5] have reported similar measurements around and inside office buildings. Chuang has shown that in slow fading channels for symbol durations exceeding ten times the multipath delay spread, the receiver timing recovery loop tracks the centroid (or the excess mean delay) of the multi path power delay profile [ 6] . In this paper, we report on delay spread, jitter, and differential time delay jitter measurements. Differential time delay jitter values for tho indoor racllo channd have not been previously available.

Analysis and experimental evaluation of the frequency response of an indoor radiating cable in the UHF band

We present the modeling of the frequency response of the channel for a radiating cable system by using an autoregressive model for an indoor environment. The coefficients of the autoregressive model are determined from the experimental channel frequency response. Measurements were carried out in an indoor environment, in particular on the second floor of a university building in the frequency r...

Delay-spread estimation using cyclic-prefix in wireless OFDM systems

A novel cyclic-prefix based delay-spread estimation technique for wireless OFDM systems is proposed. In particular, the authors propose a technique for estimating the delays and powers of multipath components when the channel is sparse, i.e. a few strong multipaths distantly spaced in time, and a technique for estimating the RMS delay-spread when the channel has a large number of sample-spaced ...

An Interference Cancellation Scheme for TFI-OFDM in Time-Variant Large Delay Spread Channel

In the mobile radio environment, signals are usually impaired by fading and multipath delay phenomenon. In such channels, severe fading of the signal amplitude and inter-symbol-interference (ISI) due to the frequency selectivity of the channel cause an unacceptable degradation of error performance. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is an efficient scheme to mitigate the effect o...

Dual Phase Detector Based Delay Locked Loop for High Speed Applications

In this paper a new architecture for delay locked loops will be presented.  One of problems in phase-frequency detectors (PFD) is static phase offset or reset path delay. The proposed structure decreases the jitter resulted from PFD by switching two PFDs. In this new architecture, a conventional PFD is used before locking of DLL to decrease the amount of phase difference between input and outpu...

Coherence Bandwidth and its Relationship with the RMS delay spread for PLC channels using Measurements up to 100 MHz

Estimations of coherence bandwidth from wideband channel sounding measurements made in the 30KHz–100MHz band in several indoor environments are described. Results are intended for applications in high-capacity indoor powerline networks. The coherence bandwidth and the RMS delay spread parameters are estimated from measurements of the complex transfer function of the Powerline Communications (PL...
